Shevlin, Arnold Crack NE10 Top 10 with Performances at Maine

ORONO, Maine – Junior Brian Shevlin (Floral Park, N.Y./Chaminade HS) and senior Alex Arnold (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) achieved performances that rank among the best in the Northeast-10 Conference this season while competing for the Bentley University men's indoor track team during the UMaine Saturday Invitational at the New Balanced Field House on Saturday.

Shevlin finished second in the 60 meters with times of 7.05 in the prelims and 7.10 in the finals. That elevated him to eighth on the season's NE10 performance list.

Arnold moved to seventh on the NE10 list in the long jump by finishing fourth with a distance of 21'8.25".

Both were also part of the Falcons' 4x200 relay that was second in a season-best 1:33.34. That quartet also included sophomores Nick Czelewicz (Lowell/Lowell HS) and Jared Reimer (Berlin, Conn./ Berlin HS).

Bentley's lone win in the meet came in the 4x400. Freshman Peterlee Dorielan (Cambridge, Mass./Cambridge Rindge and Latin) led off and teamed with senior Josh Gettings (Lowell, Mass./Lowell HS) and a pair of sophomores, Devin Wendel (Westfield, N.J./Westfield HS) and Joe Wix (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial HS), for a 3:35.82.

Wix also finished third in the 400, reaching the line in 52.78.

Fourth-place finishes were turned in by freshman Brice Tolan (Abington, Mass./Abington HS) in the 400 (4:45.35) and sophomore Christian Lestik (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown HS) in the 800 (2:08.01).

Next Saturday, Bentley will compete in both the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University and the Gordon Kelly Invitational at MIT.
