Catino Posts Highest Individual Finish for Bentley Men at Northeast-10 Championships

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Antonio Catino (North Reading, Mass./North Reading HS) had the highest individual finish for the Bentley University men's track and field team during the two-day Northeast-10 Conference Championships, which were contested Friday and Saturday at Southern New Hampshire University.

The sophomore was sixth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.53 seconds. He had qualified in Friday's prelim with a 15.42, the seventh best in program history and the best by a Falcon since 2011.

Bentley posted a fifth-place finish in the 4x400 relay with sophomore Mark Stanic (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton HS) teaming with juniors Josh Gettings (Lowell, Mass./Lowell HS), Robert Moritz (Singapore) and Shawn Andrade (Suffield, Conn./Suffield HS) for a time of 3:21.43. That's the seventh best in program history.

Also scoring for the Falcons were senior Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown HS) in the 10,000 meters (32:33.34) and junior Alex Arnold (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) in the long jump (20'11.75"). Both placed eighth in the championship.

Arnold also finished ninth in the 100 meters, missing qualifying for the finals by one-hundredth of a second with a clocking of 11.17.

Tenth-place finishes were achieved by Gettings in the 400 hurdles (56.16), sophomore Peter Maselli (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson HS) in the javelin (158'9") and senior Dan Hergott (Wallingford, Conn./ Xavier HS) in the 5,000 (15:46.76). Also in the 5,000, junior Tom Abraham (Lowell, Mass./Lowell HS) was 12th in 15:55.42.

Bentley finished in 11th place with nine points. Southern Connecticut State easily captured the team championship with 180 points.

Next week, selected members of the team will compete in the New England Championships at Southern Connecticut State.
