Competing at different venues, two members of the Bentley University men's indoor track and field team climbed on the Northeast-10 Conference performance list with their achievements on Saturday.

During the massive David Hemery Valentine's Invitational at Boston University, senior Dan Hergott (Wallingford, Conn./Xavier HS) established a new personal best and moved to 15th on the NE10 list in the mile. His time of 4:22.41 was an improvement on his PR by 4.42 and placed him 161st in a field of nearly 300 competitors.

Also at BU, freshman Jesse Blow (Cape Coral, Fla./Ida S. Baker HS) lowered his PR in the 200 by 0.88 seconds with his time of 23.09 placing him 124th among 205.

Across the Charles in the smaller Gordon Kelly Invitational at MIT, junior Alex Arnold (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) posted the NE10's 16th best long jump of the season. He was eighth of 30 in the event with a distance of 20 feet, 7.25 inches. Arnold was also third of 22 in the 60, turning in a time of 7.22 seconds. Sophomore Kevin Pellegrine (Walpole/Walpole HS) had an identical time, placing fourth while establishing a new PR.

Continuing with the sprints, sophomore Niko Jancaterino (Buzzards Bay/Falmouth HS) was second of 17 in the 200 with a 24.00.

Junior Thomas Abraham (Lowell/Lowell HS) took first among five runners in the 5,000 (16:42.86) and senior Nicholas Accardi (Seekonk/Seekonk HS) followed in third (16:56.08).

Sixth-place finishes were turned in by junior Declan O'Brien (Norwood/Norwood HS) in the 60 hurdles (9.22) and freshman Folajimi Olutiola (Old Tappen, N.J./Dwight Englewood HS) in the high jump (5'8.75").

Bentley's top finisher in the shot put was senior Michael Carpino (Mansfield/Mansfield HS), who was eighth of 45 with a throw of 42 feet, one-half inch.

These were the final competitions for the Falcons before next weekend's Northeast-10 Conference Championships at Smith College.
