Bentley Places 3 on Academic All-Northeast-10 Track Team

WALTHAM, Mass. --- Three members of the Bentley University track and field team, including recently minted CoSIDA Academic All-America Sean Nee (West Yarmouth/Dennis-Yarmouth Reg. HS), have been chosen for the 2016 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference outdoor track and field team.

Joining Nee, a May graduate, were classmate Olyvia Leahy (New Bedford/New Bedford HS) and rising senior Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS).

Nee, who was also an Academic All-Conference honoree indoors, established outdoor personal bests in the 400 (51.96 seconds), the 800 (1:52.26) and the 1500 meters (3:57.70). He earned Division II All-East honors in the 800 from the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association, and finished third in the same event during the conference championships.

Haas, who owns a share of the outdoor school records in the 4x800 and 4x1500 relays, finished sixth in the 1500 at the NE-10's. Earlier in the season, he ran the ninth fastest 1500 (3:57.70) in program history during the Raleigh Relays.

Leahy, a team co-captain, finished her career number four in program history in the 100 meter hurdles after posting a time of 16.51 seconds during the NE-10 championships. That put her ninth overall in the event. She also helped Bentley finish eighth in the 4x100 relay.

Leahy and Nee were both Summa Cum Laude graduates, achieving GPAs of 3.84 and 3.70 respectively. Leahy majored in actuarial science and liberal studies, while Nee earned his degree in finance.  Haas has achieved a 3.79 in finance.
