Bentley Closes Out Spring Break Trip with 9-0 Sweep of Scranton

 

ORLANDO, Fla. – Bentley closed out its spring break trip on Friday with a 9-0 sweep of the University of Scranton.

The Falcons went 2-2 in their four matches in Florida with wins over Scranton and St. Lawrence and defeats to ranked teams Rollins (No. 24) and St. Thomas Aquinas (No. 29).

Three players won in both singles and doubles for the Falcons on Friday, Gabe Horowitz (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego), Noah Monsanto (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) and Reilly O'Brien (Andover, Mass./Andover).

Horowitz teamed with Liam Marr (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) an 8-0 win in No. 2 doubles and O'Brien and Monsanto were 8-1 winners in No. 3 doubles.

In singles, Horowitz did not drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory in No. 3. Monsanto was a 6-1, 6-0 winner in No. 4 and O'Brien won a 6-4, 6-2 decision in No. 6.

Connor Aulson, Max Bonte and Diego Ramos also won in singles for Bentley. Aulson in No. 1, Bonte in No. 2 and Ramos in No. 5.

Bentley will travel back north with a 7-6 overall record. They will now begin NE10 Conference play, on Thursday when they host Assumption.
