Getting to Know men's tennis player Daniel Weitz. From Roslyn, New York, Daniel is a junior at Bentley. Last season as a sophomore, he was named second team All-Northeast 10 at No. 2 singles. As a freshman, he was chosen to the NE10 All-Rookie team.

At what age did you begin playing tennis?

I began playing tennis when I was 8 years old. I also grew up playing soccer and hockey, but quit both of those sports by the age of 13 to solely focus on tennis.

Who was your favorite athlete growing up, and who is your favorite athlete now?

My favorite athlete growing up was Eli Manning and now currently my favorite athlete is Klay Thompson.

What is the most memorable sporting event that you have attended?

The most memorable sporting event that I have gone to is Wimbledon. I went in the summer of 2012 and was a little young to appreciate every about it, but it was still a great experience.

What is your favorite place that you have traveled to?

My favorite place to travel to is Jamaica. My family and I go every year.

What is your pre and post match meal of choice?

My pre-match meal of choice is grilled chicken with pasta, and my favorite post-match meal is chicken parm.

Why did you choose to come to Bentley?

The reasons why I chose to come to Bentley is because it is a great business school, and I knew I would fit in well with the team here after coming on a few visits. We all have a strong bond, and it is a great team environment. The competition is great and I also appreciate the work-life balance that Bentley has to offer.

What is your most memorable moment of your Bentley career so far?

My favorite moment of my Bentley career so far was being able to play in the NCAA tournament last year. It was a great experience and hopefully we will return next year.

What have you been doing during this shutdown to stay busy?

During the shutdown I have been watching a lot of Netflix and I have been trying to stay active.
