Bentley Falls to No. 3 in Region Queens College (NY)

Andover, Mass. – In match between two of the top six ranked teams in the East Region, No. 3 ranked Queens College (NY) defeated No. 6 ranked Bentley 7-0 on Friday at the Spark Fitness and Tennis Club.

Queens improved its record to 3-1 with the win, while the Falcons dropped to 4-3.

The Knights won all three of the doubles matches to claim the doubles point, then swept singles play to take the victory.

Two of the singles matches went to three sets, however. The No. 2 match between Bentley's Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) and Queens' Tim Ostheimer, and the No. 4 match between Bentley's Maurico Fadul (Miami, Fla.) and Lucas Demuth.

In the No. 2 match, Aulson took the first set 6-3. Ostheimer though rallied in the next two sets, 6-1, 6-3. In the No. 4 matchup, Demuth won the first set 6-4, but Fadul stayed in it with a 7-6 victory in the second set, only for Demuth to edge the third set by a 10-7 score.

Bentley will now be off until March 8 when they begin the annual spring break trip in Florida.
