Bentley Begins Spring Season at Brandeis

Waltham, Mass. – The Bentley men's tennis team began its spring season against crosstown rival Brandeis on Sunday, the No. 8 ranked team in Division III, and the Judges came away with an 8-1 victory.

Bentley's point came in singles, from sophomore Alex Novins (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) in the No. 3 match. He defeated Adam Tzeng in three sets. Tzeng won the first set 6-0, but Novins rallied and took the second set 6-4, then won the third set tiebreak 10-7.

Brandeis swept the three doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead, then built on its lead in singles.

The Falcons (4-1) were playing their first match of the spring season after an unbeaten fall season. They were picked 2nd in the NE10 Preseason Poll and are currently ranked 6th in the East Region by the ITA.

The team will next be in action on Friday when they visit Division I Bryant for a 2:00 pm match.
