Bentley Sweeps Singles Matches in 6-1 Win over Nichols
Andover, Mass. – Bentley swept all six singles matches in a 6-1 victory over Nichols on Thursday at the Spark Fitness and Tennis Club.
Junior Maurcio Fadul (Miami, Fla.) also won the No. 3 doubles match, teaming with freshman Pedro Diavan (Cuiaba, Brazil), to give him two wins on the day. Fadul and Diavan defeated Jason Lee and Sam Kluger 6-4, and in singles Fadul defeated Kerem Subasi in No. 5 by a 6-2, 6-1 score.
Junior Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) won the No. 1 singles match over Brandon Howard 6-0, 6-1 and classmate Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) dispatched of Guilherme Barbosa in No. 2 by a 7-5, 6-1 score. Senior Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) won the No. 4 match, 6-4, 6-0 over Lee.
Freshman Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Stamford) won a three setter over Peter Coletti in No. 3, 4-6, 6-2, 10-6.
The Falcons improved to 3-0 this fall, after earlier wins over UMass-Dartmouth and Eastern Nazarene. They will close out the fall portion of their schedule on Saturday when they host District of Columbia. That match will take place at 5:00 pm at the Bass River Tennis Club.
