Bentley Rolls Past Post University 6-1

 

Waltham, Mass. – Bentley University stepped out of conference before its final two NE10 matches of the season with a non-conference match at Post University on Friday, and the Falcons came away with a 6-1 victory.

Bentley swept the doubles matches, and took five of the six singles matches. It's the team's 2nd win in a row and 3rd in the last four to improve to 14-6 overall on the season.

Seniors Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) won straight sets matches in singles. Granat earned a 6-2, 7-5 victory in No. 1, and Fuca a 6-1, 7-6 victory in No. 3. Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn), Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) and Mauricio Fadul (Key Biscayne, Fla.) each battled to three sets wins.

In No. 2, Weitz won his match 5-7, 6-3, 3-4 (retired). In No. 4, Aulson won the first set 6-2 and dropped the 2nd set 5-7, before he took the decisive third set 6-2. Fadul dropped the first set 4-6 in the No. 5 match, but rallied in the next two sets 6-2 and 6-1 to win the match.

The doubles matches saw Granat and Fuca team up to win the No. 1 match 6-4. Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) and Weitz fought to a 7-5 win in No. 2, and Aulson and freshman Alex Novins (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) emerged in the No. 3 match by a 6-3 score.

Bentley will now head down to Long Island to visit Adelphi tomorrow, which is followed by the final regular season match on Tuesday at home to Merrimack.
