Bentley Picked 4th in NE10 Preseason Poll

Waltham, Mass. – Bentley men's tennis has been picked 4th by the NE10 coaches in the Preseason Poll. The Falcons get their spring season up and running next week with a pair of non-conference matches against MIT and Villanova.

The Falcons received 72 points in the poll, and one first place vote. Defending NE10 champions Southern New Hampshire topped the poll with 96 points and eight first place votes, followed by Merrimack in 2nd (85 points) and Le Moyne (79 points).

Bentley went 2-1 in the fall season, with wins over Nichols and Eastern Nazarene. They also competed at the UConn Invitational, where sophomores Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) and Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) and freshman Alexander Novins (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) each won singles titles.

Last season in NE10 play Bentley went 5-4 during the regular season, and advanced to the NE10 Semifinals for the 12th straight season after a 5-1 victory over Franklin Pierce in the first round.

Bentley will get its spring season going in earnest next week when they travel to MIT on Wednesday, before they host Villanova at the Bass River Tennis Club in Beverly on the 22nd at 7:00 pm. The team's spring break trip to Florida the week on March 11, and a non-conference match against New York Tech on March 23, precede NE10 play opening on March 26 with a home date against Merrimack.

Seniors Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Nick Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate) captain the squad.
