Bentley Records Second Straight 9-0 Sweep, over Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. – Bentley recorded its second straight 9-0 shutout on Sunday, this time defeating non-conference opponent Endicott College. Eight different players again contributed to the victory.

The victory came one day after the team blanked Saint Michael's in its Northeast-10 opener, and improved its record to 5-3 overall.

George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) and Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) led the doubles effort with an 8-4 win in the No. 1 match Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) and Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) took the No. 2 match 8-5, and Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) and Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) posted an 8-1 victory in the No. 3 position.

In singles, senior Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) emerged from a first set tiebreak to win the No. 1 match in two sets, 7-6 (9-7), 6-3. Other winners in singles were Weitz, who dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the No. 2 match and Nick Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate), who posted a 6-4, 6-4 triumph in the No. 6 match.

After playing in four matches this week to get the spring season started, Bentley is off until March 4, when they begin its spring break trip in Florida against Florida Tech.
