Bentley Finishes Spring Trip 8-1 Win over Saint Anselm

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Bentley University men's tennis team closed out its spring break trip in Florida with an 8-1 victory over Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 match on Thursday afternoon.

The Falcons won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches, then dominated in singles with a sweep. They dropped just seven games total in the six matches, and two players won their matches 6-0, 6-0.

The two players to sweep were sophomores Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) and Nick Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate) in the No. 5 and No. 6 matches, respectively. Junior Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) dropped just one game in the No. 1 match in a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Senior Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick) dropped just one game as well on his way to a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 3 match.

Bentley's other singles winners on the day were Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset), 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 2 match, and Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) in the No. 4 match by a 6-2, 6-1 score.

The Falcons finished their spring break trip with a 3-1 record, and their win today boosted the overall record to 5-5 and 1-1 in NE10 matches. The team will get back on the courts in two weeks when they visit Assumption on March 23rd
