Bentley Drops Fall Finale to Division I Bryant 6-1

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bentley University men's tennis team closed out its fall season on Saturday, but suffered its first defeat of the season when they were upended by Division I Bryant 6-1. Sophomore Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) earned the point for Bentley in No. 6 singles.

Gilman claimed a three set win 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 in No. 6 singles. Two other matches went to three sets, but saw Bryant come out on top. George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) in No. 2 singles dropped to Guido Argentini 6-7 (7-4), 6-4, 10-4, and freshman Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) dropped a close one to Joe Sterry in No. 5 singles 5-7, 7-6 (9-7), 10-4.

Bentley closed out the fall season with a 2-1 record, with the wins coming over Nichols and Salem State.
