Bentley Coasts Past Saint Michael’s 8-1
COLCESHTER, Vt. – Bentley got its Northeast-10 schedule in full swing on Wednesday with an 8-1 victory over Saint Michael's on the road. Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) both won twice.
The Falcons won two of three doubles matches (No. 1 & No. 3) and all six singles matches. McCarthy and Samander teamed for an 8-5 victory in the No. 1 doubles match, while Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) and Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) were 8-3 winners in the No. 3 spot.
As the action shifted to singles, McCarthy swept the No. 1 match 6-0, 6-0 and Samander earned a 6-0, 6-4 triumph in the No. 2 match. Other notable action in singles was Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick) dropping just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 match in the No. 3 spot, and Daniel Camacho (Bogota, Columbia) rallying for a 6-7, 6-3, 10-3 win in the No. 5 match.
Now 10-4 overall and 3-1 in NE-10 matches, the Falcons are back on the courts on Saturday to host Stonehill.
