Bentley Wins Spring Break Finale Over St. Thomas Aquinas 6-3

ORLANDO, Fla. – Led by a sweep of the doubles matches, Bentley defeated St. Thomas Aquinas 6-3 on Friday in the final match of the team's spring break trip.

After the doubles sweep, wins in singles by George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC), Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) and Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick) helped Bentley finish the win.

Samander had earlier teamed with Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) for an 8-6 victory in the No. 1 doubles match. In No. 2 singles, Samander was a winner in three sets, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4. Gilman dropped just one game in the No. 5 match, taking it 6-0, 6-1, while Rosa won in the No. 6 spot 6-3, 6-1.

In doubles, the team of Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) won in the No. 2 spot, 8-6, while Nick Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) and Jerry Liang (Shanghai, China) earned a point for the Falcons in the No. 3 match, 8-2.

Bentley will take an 8-3 overall record back north. They're back in action on March 23 vs. Colby-Sawyer.
