Bentley Aces Holy Cross 6-1

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Bentley men's tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 6-1 victory at Division I Holy Cross on Thursday.  Four different players won both of their matches.

Bentley swept doubles play, which counts for one point in Division I matches. Bentley's top team of Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) led the way with an 8-6 win in the No. 1 match.

In singles, McCarthy, Samander, Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick Academy) and Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) each won their second matches. McCarthy was a 6-1, 6-0 winner in the No. 1 spot, while Samander went to three sets to defeat Henry Harrs 2-6, 6-2, 10-6. Rosa picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win in the No. 4 match and Fuca defeated Charlie Volkwein 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 5 spot.

Bentley will play its final home match of the fall on Sunday when they host Daemen.
