Bentley Overwhelms Le Moyne 7-2
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Three different players won in both singles and doubles as the Bentley men's tennis team defeated Le Moyne 7-2 on Sunday in its first Northeast-10 match of the season.
The double winners for Bentley were Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth), Kamil Pilch (Wroclaw, Poland/IMG) and Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset).
McCarthy teamed with George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao) to win the No. 1 doubles match 9-8. McCarthy then won the No. 1 singles match, 6-2, 6-2 over James Gayvert. Pilch and Granat teamed to take the No. 2 doubles match 8-6. Pilch defeated Jason Barton 6-2, 6-3 in No. 2 singles, and Granat knocked off Stephan Legris 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 4 match.
Bentley's other victors on the day were Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick Academy) in the No. 5 match and Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) in the No. 6 match.
Now 2-0 on the season, Bentley will face Holy Cross on Thursday for its next match.
