Bentley Sweeps Saint Michael’s 9-0

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University men's tennis improved to 4-2 in the Northeast-10 with a 9-0 sweep of visiting Saint Michael's Tuesday afternoon indoors at the Waltham Athletic Club.

Freshmen Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) each won two matches to help the Falcons to their third sweep of the season.

McCarthy and Samander first teamed for an 8-2 win in the No. 2 doubles match, while Alex DeMuth (Shaker Heights, Ohio/University School) and Kamil Pilch (Wroclaw, Poland/IMG) combined for an 8-2 victory in the No. 1 doubles match. Evan Chomka (Warwick, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) and Felipe Palacios (Bogota, Columbia/CNG) also took an 8-2 victory, in the No. 3 match.

Bentley combined to drop just 12 games in the six singles matches. McCarthy scored a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 1 match, while Samander was a 6-1, 6-2 winner in the No. 2 match. Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick) and Alberto Riveroll (Celaya, Mexico/ITJ) each dropped just one game in their singles matches, each winning 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 3 and No. 6 matches, respectively.

The Falcons continue their schedule tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Southern New Hampshire for a 2:00 pm match.
