10 Bentley Teams & 348 Student-Athletes Recognized by Northeast-10 for Academic Excellence

A record ten Bentley University teams have received 2014-15 Team Academic Excellence Awards from the Northeast-10 Conference, an award presented to the program in each of the conference’s 24 sports that achieved the highest grade point average.

Ahead of the team’s Northeast-10 semifinal match today against Merrimack, four Bentley University men’s tennis players received All-Conference honors; freshmen Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC), junior Sam Frye (Redlands, Calif./Redlands) and sophomore Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick).
Merrimack Moves Past Bentley 5-1 in Northeast-10 Semifinals

Top seed Merrimack moved on to the finals of the Northeast-10 Men’s Tennis Championship with a 5-1 win over No. 4 seed Bentley in the semifinals on Thursday afternoon at the Northeast Tennis Center.

Freshman Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) won the deciding singles match 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 to send No. 4 seed Bentley to a 5-4 victory over No. 5 seed Assumption in the Northeast-10 Men’s Tennis Championship quarterfinals.
Bentley Set to Open NE-10 Championship vs. Assumption

Bentley will open up the Northeast-10 Men’s Tennis Championship on Tuesday afternoon at home against Assumption in a quarterfinal match after finishing the regular season with a 7-3 conference record. The match is set to get started at 2:00 pm.
