Bentley Picks Up Key 5-4 Win over Stonehill

WALTHAM, Mass. – Powered by four wins in singles play, the Bentley men's tennis team picked up a key Northeast-10 win over Stonehill on Thursday afternoon, 5-4. Senior Jimmy Rindo (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) won both of his matches.

Stonehill took a 2-1 lead into singles play after winning the No. 1 and No. 3 matches in doubles, but Bentley rallied by taking four of six in singles.

The team of Rindo and sophomore Sam Frye (Redlands, Calif./Redlands) earned the doubles point for Bentley, defeating Nick Hyzak and Jared Drzal in the No. 2 match 9-7.

Rindo led the charge for the Falcons in singles play, taking the No. 1 match over Hyzak 6-2, 6-3. Senior Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) won the No. 2 match, 6-2, 6-3 over Eric Ringstad.

Sophomore Kamil Pilch (Wroclaw, Poland/IMG Pendleton) completed a sweep of the top-three singles matches for Bentley with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Philip Klados. Bentley's fourth singles win came from freshman Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick Academy) in the No. 5 match, 6-2, 6-1 over Brett Armstrong.

The win takes Bentley's records to 7-5 overall and 6-0 in the NE-10, while the Skyhawks drop to 8-4 and 4-1. The Falcons' next match is Wednesday afternoon against AIC.
