Rosa, Chomka Post Singles Victories, But Bentley Falls to Webber International 7-2

ORLANDO, Fla. – Freshman Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick Academy) and sophomore Evan Chomka (Warwick, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) each posted singles wins, but the Bentley University men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 defeat to Webber International in a non-conference matchup Monday in Orlando.

Both Rosa and Chomka rallied after dropping the first set. Playing Webber sophomore Firmiano Filho in the fifth-flight, Rosa lost the first set 6-3. However, he took the second set 7-5 and the third set tiebreak 10-5.

Chomka took on junior Hugo Cedeno in the sixth-flight and dropped the first set 6-2. But Chomka was victorious in the second frame 7-5, before winning the tiebreak 10-4.

The Falcons drop to 4-3 on the season, while Webber, which competes in the Sun Conference, improves to 5-4.

Bentley continues its spring break trip on Thursday when they visit Florida Tech.
