Rindo's Run at ITA’s Ends in Finals of B Singles Tournament

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Bentley junior Jimmy Rindo (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) advanced all the way to the finals of the B singles tournament at the ITA Men's Tennis East Regional, but fell just short of the title on Monday.

Rindo won four matches over the first two days of the competition to advance to the semifinals, which were held Monday as well. Rindo was drawn against Steven Galerkin of the University of the Sciences and came away with an 8-6 victory.

That set up a match with AIC's Thijs Bik in the finals, but the freshman Yellow Jacket was victorious by a score of 8-2.

Rindo had previously defeated Chris Amedjoneka of Post (8-3), Robert Beer of Roger Williams (8-5), Chris Toegemann of Merrimack (8-2) and Boris Tiberkov of Adelphi (8-2) to reach the semis.

Bentley's next competition is a match at Le Moyne on Thursday.
