Bentley Men Make It 38 Straight with 145-89 Win over Keene State

WALTHAM, Mass. – One thousand, four hundred and seven days after Keene State became the last team to defeat the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team in a dual meet, the Falcons faced the Owls again and this time came away with a 145-89 win at the Dana Center pool Saturday afternoon to extend their winning streak to 38.

The Falcons took first in all nine individual swimming events with a different student-athlete prevailing in each race.

Winning freestyle events were sophomore Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) in the 50 (21.44 seconds), senior Sam Trozenski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon HS) in the 100 (50.53), senior                    Jarod Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS) in the 200 (1:48.18), junior Tanner Fales (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast HS) in the 500 (4:57.49) and freshman Michael Motisi (Ellington, Conn./Ellington HS) in the 1,000 (10:33.17). Zoda's time was the second best of the season in the Northeast-10.

Other winners were freshman Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS) in the 200 back (2:04.56), sophomore Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) in the 200 butterfly (2:04.85), senior Paul Homorodean (Milford, Conn./ Joseph A. Foran HS) in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.95) and freshman Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./ Clayton Valley HS) in the 400 individual medley.

Vizental's time was good for second in the NE10 performance list and Homorodean moved to fourth in the 400 IM.

Senior Alper Alkaya (Milan, Italy) was part of both winning relays, helping the Falcons to times of 1:39.92 in the 200 medley and 1:31.01 in the 200 free.

Bentley, 5-0, will wrap up the first semester schedule with the Gompei Invitational Dec. 6-8 at WPI.
