WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshmen Oscar Chang (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West HS) and Emily Sweet (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North HS) were recently named the Northeast-10 Conference Swimming Rookies of the Week for the week ending December 9.

Chang was a triple-winner as the Bentley men swam past Norwich University to extend its dual winning streak to 27. He post winning times of 25.61 seconds in the 50 yard backstroke, 24.74 in the 50 butterfly and 55.13 in the 100 back.

In a win at Norwich that completed the Falcons' first-semester schedule, Sweet took first in the 1,000 freestyle with her time of 11:05.06 second best in the conference during the week. She also helped Bentley to a second-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:49.62).

The conference also bestowed Men's Relay Team of the Week accolades on Bentley's 200 medley relay. In the Norwich meet, an all-freshman lineup teamed to win the 200 medley relay in 1:40.44. Ellis Sartorio (Mountainside, N.J/Academy for Information Technology) swam the opening leg and was followed by Alec Lanza (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead HS), Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./ Northport HS) and Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS).

The Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll included Zoda, junior Paige MacNeil (Branford, Conn./ Branford HS) and freshman divers Jeremy Glick (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) and Sarah Vojta (Morris Plains, N.J./Morris County School of Technology).

Zoda, in addition to his efforts in the 200 medley relay, was first to the wall in the 50 breaststroke (27.66) and the 200 individual medley (1:59.91).

MacNeil was first in both the 100 freestyle (56.94) and the 500 free (5:32.48). She also helped the Falcons capture the 200 medley relay in 1:57.21. Her time in the 100 free was the fastest in the conference during the week and her 500 time ranked second.

Vojta swept the women's diving at Norwich, with a combined one-meter score of 315.05 in the two one-meter events. Glick amassed a combined one-meter score of 320.65. He was second in the five mandatory dives and third in the six optional.

Bentley's next meet is Jan. 10 at St. Michael's.
