Bentley Men Improve to 8-0 with 190-106 Win over Keene State

KEENE, N.H. – Three members of the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team, including freshmen Jarod Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS) and Dan Sausto (Slingerlands, N.Y./ The Doane Stuart School), were double-winners as the Falcons improved to 8-0 with a 190-106 win over Keene State College Saturday afternoon at the Spaulding Gymnasium pool.

Yoshihara swept the backstroke events, swimming the 100 yards in 55.07 and the 200 back in 2:01.01. He bested teammate Chris Vukas (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS), a junior, by 1.59 seconds in the 100 and Keene's Eric King by 3.37 seconds in the 200.

Sausto captured the meet's two longest races with times of 10:23.76 in the 1000 freestyle and 4:59.83 in the 500 free. His winning margin in the 1000 was more than 18 seconds, and he touched 1.39 seconds in front of junior teammate Aidan Karam (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) in the 500.

Also doubling for the Falcons was senior diver Greg Coleman (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./ Sachem North HS). He posted a 256.00 from the one-meter board and turned in a 235.50 off the three-meter. Keene's Jake Driscoll was a relatively close second in both, with scores of 245.10 and 219.30, respectively.

Bentley's other winners were freshman Sam Trozenski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon HS) in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.00) and sophomore Ryan McGeary (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Catholic HS) in the 200 breast (2:10.15).

Vukas, Karam and McGeary were part of Bentley's winning 400 free relay team, along with senior Liam Bartlett (Syracuse, N.Y./William Nottingham HS).

Bentley will be at home Tuesday night, hosting Babson College at 6 pm.
