Bentley Remains Undefeated with 142-100 Win at Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. – Freshman Jarod Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS) posted a pair of wins and swam the fastest 200 yard backstroke in the Northeast-10 Conference this season as Bentley University stayed undefeated with a 142-100 win over Roger Williams University in men's swimming action Friday night at the RWU Aquatics Center.

Yoshihara's winning time of 1:56.77 in the 200 back bettered the NE-10 best of 1:57.72 that he set back on Oct. 22. His other victory came in the 200 freestyle as he just edged out teammate Aidan Karam (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) by two-hundredths of a second with a time of 1:46.75.

His win in the 200 was one of four that Bentley had in the freestyle events. Freshman Dan Sausto (Slingerlands, N.Y./Doane Stuart School) captured the 1,000 in 10:41.99 with the Falcons going 1-2-3 in that one. Karam won the 100 in 48.52 and sophomore Ryan McGeary (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Catholic HS) touched first in the 500 (4:55.64).

The other winners for the Falcons were senior Nick Cilia (Brentwood, N.H./Exeter HS) in the one-meter diving (202.87) and sophomore Frank Elenio (Ridgefield, N.J./Bergen County Academies) in the 200 butterfly (2:02.29).

Bentley also finished first in the 200 free relay with that quartet consisting of seniors Liam Bartlett (Syracuse, N.Y./William Nottingham HS) and Davis Wilson (Ransom Canyon, Texas/ Lubbock HS), junior Chris Vukas (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) and freshman Alper Alkaya (Milan, Italy).

Bentley, 4-0, returns to action next Friday night at  Brandeis.
