Bridge Completes Diving Sweep in Gompei Invitational

WORCESTER, Mass. – After capturing the one-meter diving on Saturday, Bentley University senior Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS) made it a sweep as he posted a winning score of 431.85 from the three-meter board Sunday during the final day of the WPI Gompei Invitational.

Bridge prevailed by nearly 50 points over Bryant University freshman Kevin Sullivan.

The highest Sunday finish for a Bentley swimmer came in the 200 freestyle with senior Owen Karl (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton HS) earning a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:45.55.

Senior Sebastian Bury (Bellevue, Wash./Newport Senior HS) posted a ninth-place finish in the 50 backstroke (25.35) and classmate Timothy Connolly (Dorchester/Boston Latin Academy) was 10th in the 100 back (55.00).

Karl and Bury partnered with sophomore Christopher Vukas (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) and junior Davis Wilson (Ransom Canyon, Texas/Lubbock HS) for a seventh-place showing in the 400 free relay with their time of 3:13.43 one of the top three in the Northeast-10    Conference this season.

Bentley was fourth of nine in the team standings with the Falcons' total of 1,748 points putting them behind Stevens Tech (3,828), WPI (3,476) and Bryant University (1,748).

Bentley will wrap up the first semester Saturday with a 1 pm home meet against Norwich University.
