Keene State Sweeps Past Bentley Men in Pool
KEENE, N.H. – Senior All-America Drew Ledwith (Keene, N.H.) and junior Randy Dunton (St. Cloud, Fla.) each won three individual events to power Keene State College to a 185-103 win over Bentley University in men's college swimming Saturday afternoon at Keene. The Owls captured all 16 events to drop the Falcons to 5-4 on the year.
Bentley had four second-place finishes in the meet, including two by sophomore diver Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS). He had his best one-meter score of the year, 256.20, and posted a 244.65 in the three-meter.
Senior Philip Chan (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier HS) was the runner-up in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:04.76) and junior Josh Witty (Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos HS) took second in the 200 backstroke (2:05.25).
The Falcons had six third-place finishes, including two apiece by sophomore Owen Karl (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton HS) and freshman Dennis Witol (Bowie, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt HS). Karl had times of 1:51.22 in the 200 freestyle and 5:05.10 in the 500 free, and Witol swam the 200 breast in 2:26.39 and the 200 individual medley (2:09.13).
Also finishing third were sophomores Tim Connolly (Dorchester, Mass./Boston Latin Academy), in the 100 back (57.59), and Alex Liulakis (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly HS), in the 200 butterfly (2:07.50).
Bentley's next meet is Wednesday night at Babson College (6 pm).
