PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The only winning performance by a member of the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team during the two-day Pace Invitational was recorded by freshman diver Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS). The meet concluded Saturday afternoon at the Goldstein Athletics Center pool.

Bridge claimed the one-meter diving with his score of 218.10 about three points better than runner-up David Genender of Saint Rose and six better than Saint Rose's Ryan Butler as the trio staged a tight three-way battle.

Bridge also took second in the three-meter, with his score of 188.30 putting him about 31 points back of Southern Connecticut State's Jonathan Buehler.

Bentley's only other second was posted by senior George Go (Manila, Philippines) in the 100 yard backstroke, with his time of 55.15 seconds a season-best. Go was also third in the 100 butterfly, reaching the wall in 54.68 seconds.

Senior Tyler Champagne (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional HS) placed third in the 1650 freestyle, swimming the meet's longest race in 18:11.89. Champagne also helped the Falcons finish third in the 400 free relay in 3:25.12. That quartet also included senior Mike Simoneau (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South HS) and a pair of freshmen, Alex Liulakis (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly HS) and Sebastian Bury (Bellevue, Wash./Newport Senior HS).

Liulakis had Bentley's only individual fourth, that coming in the 200 butterfly (2:10.29).

Bentley's nine fifth-place finishes included three in freestyle events by Bury as he swam the 50 in 22.85, the 100 in 50.21 and the 200 in 1:49.88. Sophomore Connor Mulvey-Hudson (Ardmore, Pa./ St. Joseph's Prep) had two fifths, in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.64) and in the 100 breast (1:05.24).

Bentley's final meet before the exam and holiday break will be next Saturday afternoon at Norwich University.
