Go Helps Bentley Men Improve to 3-0 with Win at Brandeis

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior George Go (Manila, Philippines) turned in winning performances in both the 100 yard backstroke and the 100 butterfly, and also participated on a first-place relay team, as Bentley University swam past Brandeis University, 149-103, in men's college swimming Sunday afternoon at Brandeis.

Go captured the 100 back in 56.52 and the 100 fly in 54.74. He also partnered with sophomore Josh Witty (Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos HS), senior Mike Simoneau (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South HS) and freshman Sebastian Bury (Bellevue, Wash./Newport Senior HS) for a winning time of 3:52.16 in the 400 medley relay.

Bentley had one 1-2-3 sweep on the day, that coming in the 500 freestyle. Senior captain Tyler Champagne (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional HS) gained the win with a time of 5:09.01, and he was followed to the wall by freshman Kevin Diefenbach (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert HS) and sophomore Luke Mason (Lowell/Lowell HS).

Other individual wins in swimming events were posted by Bury in the 200 free (1:50.73), Witty in the 200 back (2:07.59) and freshman Alex Liulakis (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly HS) in the 200 butterfly (1:50.73).

Freshman diver Colton Bridge (Tolland, Conn./Tolland HS), competing without opposition, posted scores of 240.80 on the one-meter board and 2:03.65 in the three-meter.

Bentley is off until Saturday when it will host UMass-Dartmouth.
