Bentley, No. 18 SNHU Battle to 0-0 Draw

Waltham, Mass. – Bentley earned a point in its chase for the NE10 Playoffs with a 0-0 draw against No. 18 ranked Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday afternoon.

With three games remaining in the regular season, Bentley now has 11 points from a 3-5-2 NE10 record. That has them just outside the top eight, with away games left against AIC, Saint Anselm and Le Moyne to close out the regular season.

The Penmen came into the afternoon in second place in the NE10, and averaging better than three goals per game.

Bentley had the best scoring chance early on in the 7th minute, when a through ball played sophomore Jackson Fotter (Gorham, Maine/Gorham) through for a clear run in on goal, but his shot was saved over the bar by SNHU keeper Daniel Milton.

In the 32nd minute, sophomore Jack Murray (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) rose up just outside the six yard box to meet a cross that came in from the right, only for it to go just wide.

Bentley's best two chances in the second half and overtime both game from sophomore Matt Lencioni (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester). In the 80th minute he fired a shot on goal from the left that was saved by Milton, and in the final minute of the first overtime, he hammered a volley from about 15 yards away, only for Milton to come up with the save.

Meanwhile, Falcons keeper David Price (Needham, Mass./Beaver Country) and the defense produced its second shutout in a row.

Bentley now begins its season ending stretch on Saturday when they visit AIC. Kickoff is 7:00 pm.
