Saint Rose Nicks a Late Winner in Double OT Over Bentley

ALBANY, N.Y. – Saint Rose junior Kyle Clemens scored in the 104th minute, four minutes into double overtime, to give the Golden Knights a 1-0 victory over the Bentley men's soccer team on Saturday.

The teams were deadlocked 0-0 for most of the afternoon, until Clemens poked in the winning goal to the far post after taking a through ball from senior Sulelman Haruna-Iya.

That was the first shot of the second overtime. Haruna-iya had the only shot of the first overtime, but Bentley had two corner kicks midway through the period.

The Falcons had two shots on goal in the second half, but couldn't breakthrough Saint Rose keeper Gianni Carillo. Sophomore Matthew Tidona (Bellmore, N.Y./Friends Academy) had a header attempt saved by Carillo in the 52nd minute, and junior forward Julian Stewart (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxboro) had a shot turned away in the 63rd minute.

Bentley will look to get back on track on Tuesday when they return home to face Adelphi.
