No. 17 Bentley Rolls Past AIC 17-6 in Regular Season Finale

Waltham, Mass. – 17th ranked Bentley closed out the regular season with a 17-6 victory over AIC at home on Tuesday night to finish the regular season with a 9-4 overall record, 7-4 NE10.

The Falcons will be the No. 5 seed in the NE10 playoffs, and will take on the No. 4 Pace on Saturday in the quarterfinals, which will be the second game between the two teams in a week.

Junior Walker Gautier (South Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) and sophomore Timmy Day (Westfield, N.J./St. Joseph) paced the Bentley attack on the night. Day had a career high seven points, on five assists and two goals. Gautier netted four goals. Freshman Matty O'Brien (Rockland, Mass./Rockland) scored three goals, and picked up a game-high six ground balls.

Senior goalie Sean Bennett (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) got the start in goal and made six saves to earn the win, and freshman Keaton Roarick (Old Saybrook, Conn./Old Saybrook) made six stops as well.

Bentley led 6-1 after the first quarter as the goals were scored by six different players. Day assisted on three of the goals.

Day and O'Brien were two of Bentley's goal scorers in the 2nd quarter as they led 9-4 at the break.

Gautier scored two straight man-up goals in the 3rd quarter as Bentley led 11-6 after 45 minutes.

Bentley poured it on in the 4th quarter with six goals, which included a man-up goal by junior Cam Christenson (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury).

On the night Bentley went 4-7 in man-up situations.
