Bentley Athletics Garners Seven Northeast-10 Team Academic Awards

Seven Bentley University athletic teams have been presented with Team Academic Excellence Awards by the Northeast-10 Conference for the 2010-11 academic year. The awards honor the teams with the highest grade point average in each of the conference’s sponsored sports.

WALTHAM, Mass. – Recent graduates and co-captains Brian Galvin (Whitman, Mass./Boston College High) and Dante Mancini (Syosset, Mass./Syosset) of the Bentley University men’s lacrosse team have been named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic team.

WALTHAM, Mass. – Four players from the Bentley men’s lacrosse team have been named Division II All-New England by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association; seniors Dante Mancini (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) and Matt Boilard (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug), junior Brendan Grant (Walpole, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) and freshman Nick Astarita (Bedford, N.H./Bishop Guertin).

WALTHAM, Mass. – Fifth-seeded Merrimack withstood a late fourth quarter rally from fourth-seeded Bentley as they hung on for a 10-9 win in the Northeast-10 men’s lacrosse quarterfinals Tuesday night.
O’Neil Named NE-10 Goalie of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second time this season, Bentley University’s Mike O’Neil (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead) has been named the Northeast-10 Goalie of the Week. O’Neil had a 4.50 goals against average and a .609 save percentage in two games last week.
