Novak Named First Team All-Atlantic Hockey and Gosiewski All-Rookie

Waltham, Mass. – Bentley University's Jakov Novak (Windsor, Ontario) was named first team All-Atlantic Hockey on Thursday, and teammate Matt Gosiewski (Wilton, Conn.) was named to the All-Rookie team.

Novak was one of the top scorers in Atlantic Hockey during the regular season. He registered 16 goals and 14 assists for 30 points, which led the team in each of those categories. Five of his goals came on the power play and three were game-winning goals, against UNH (Oct. 18), Army West Point (Oct. 25) and Holy Cross (Nov. 29).

A 2018 draft pick of the Ottawa Senators, Novak had eight games with multiple points in his sophomore season.

Gosiewski was one of the top freshmen scores in Atlantic Hockey this season. He notched 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points in 33 regular season games. He ended the regular season leading Atlantic Hockey in goals among freshmen and ranked fourth in points.

Gosiewski scored three game-winning goals as well, against Brown (Nov. 26), Holy Cross (Nov. 30) and Army West Point (Dec. 7).

The duo, who usually form two thirds of Bentley's top line, helped the team to a sweep of Canisius in the first round of the Atlantic Hockey playoffs last weekend. Bentley finished the season with a 17-16-3 overall record.
