Waltham, Mass. – Senior defenseman Connor Brassard (Fitchburg, Mass.) was tabbed as the Atlantic Hockey Defenseman of the Week on Tuesday.

Brassard had two goals and two assists to help the Falcons sweep Mercyhurst on the road last weekend. He began the weekend by scoring in the 2^nd period of Friday's 4-3 victory. That was the first goal of a spurt of three goals in four minutes, and four goals in six minutes, for Bentley which saw them surge ahead.

Then on Saturday he had a career high three points, on one goal and two assists, as the Falcons completed the sweep with a 7-4 win. He scored with 3:34 left in the 1^st period to tie the game 2-2, then notched one assist each in the 2^nd and 3^rd periods as Bentley pulled away.

On the season, Brassard has 4 goals and 9 assists for 13 points. That ranks him 8^th in points among defensemen in Atlantic Hockey heading into this weekend's games.

This is also the second time this season Brassard has been named Defenseman of the Week. He first earned the award on Oct. 22 after he recorded two assists in Bentley's 3-2 win over UNH on Oct. 18.
