Recent Graduate Solovyev Signs with AHL’s Providence Bruins

Waltham, Mass. – Recent graduate of the Bentley University hockey team Alexey Solovyev has signed with the AHL's Providence Bruins, it was announced by Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney on Monday.

The Providence Bruins are the AHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins.

A native of Moscow, Russia, Solovyev played in 129 games as a defenseman over four years at Bentley. This past season as a senior, he tallied five goals and eight assists for 13 points to rank as the Falcons' second highest scoring defenseman.

He finished his career with 14 goals and 29 assists for 43 points. Alexey earned his master's degree in accounting from Bentley in four years, and was named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team each of his four seasons.
