Bentley Places 18 Student-Athletes on Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team

Waltham, Mass. – The Bentley University hockey is once again well represented on the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team. The Falcons had 18 student-athletes receive All-Academic honors, among the highest number in the conference, for the 2018-19 season.

To qualify for the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must post a 3.0 GPA or better in all academic semesters in which his team was actively competing.

Recent graduates Tanner Jago (Brandon, Manitoba), Jake Bryniarski (Rochester, N.Y.), Cody DePourcq (Penticton, B.C.) and Alexey Solovyev (Moscow, Russia) capped their careers by earning All-Academic honors for the fourth straight time, to make it a perfect 4-4 seasons at Bentley in which they earned the recognition.

Five rising seniors made it three years in a row on the All-Academic team; goalie Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario), defensemen Connor Brassard (Fitchburg, Mass.) and Brett Orr (Elkhorn, Manitoba) and forwards Matt Riggleman (Milford, Mich.) and Jake Kauppila (Gurnee, Ill.).

Five more student-athletes picked up a second All-Academic recognition; forwards Luke Santerno (Smithers, B.C.), Ryner Gorowsky (Lino Lakes, Minn.), Brendan Hamblet (Hopkinton, Mass.), Michael Zuffante (Bloomingdale, Ill.) and defenseman Charlie Marchand (Calgary, Alberta).

Freshmen Jakov Novak (Windsor, Ontario), Fraser Kirk (Burlington, Ontario), Luke Orysiuk (Edmonton, Alberta) and Ethan Roswell (Paradise Valley, Arizona) were named for the first time.
