Conference High Four Bentley Players Voted to Atlantic Hockey All-Conference Teams

Waltham, Mass. – Senior defenseman Tanner Jago (Brandon, Manitoba), sophomore center Luke Santerno (Smithrers, B.C.), junior goalie Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario) and junior forward Jonathan Desbiens (Montreal, Quebec) have all been named to Atlantic Hockey All-Conference teams, it was announced Thursday.  Bentley's four selections is the most in the conference.

Jago, Santerno and Pelino were each named second team All-Conference, and Desbiens to the third team. The All-Conference teams are voted on by Atlantic Hockey's 11 head coaches.

Jago, a team captain, played in all 34 regular season games and recorded 28 points on 9 goals and 19 assists. His points total is 5th most among Atlantic Hockey defensemen. Jago is also one of the top point producers on the power play in the conference, with 13 of his points coming on the power play. His +18 +/- mark is the highest in Atlantic Hockey.

His 86 career points puts him two points away from becoming the second highest scoring defenseman in the program's history. Also excelling off the ice, Jago was named one of just 10 finalist for the Division I men's hockey Senior CLASS Award back on February 8.

Santerno finished the regular season as Bentley's leader in both points (35) and assists (24), and second in goals (11). His points per game average of 1.03 is tied for the 4th highest in Atlantic Hockey and his assists per game average of 0.71 is 3rd highest. He was named the AHA Player of the Week on Jan. 29 after a four point weekend in a road sweep of Canisius.

Pelino has been stellar in goal this season for Bentley. He's started 33 of the team's 34 games and has Atlantic Hockey's 3rd best goals against average at 2.58.

During Bentley's 12 game unbeaten streak, he went 10-0-2 with a 1.88 GAA and .924 save percentage, with two goals or fewer allowed in nine of the games. He claimed an AHA Goalie of the Week award and Goalie of the Month award for February.

Desbiens finished the regular season as Bentley's leading goal scorer with 15, a career-high and 7th most in the conference. He had a goal in an incredible nine games in a row from Jan. 18-Feb. 14 during the unbeaten streak. Included in that streak was an overtime goal in a 3-2 win over Canisius on Feb. 8, and a tying goal late in the 3rd period against Air Force on Feb. 1, a game the Falcons won in OT 4-3. Overall four of his goals were game-winners, 3rd most in the conference.

Desbiens also had two goals in a 3-3 tie with Dartmouth on Jan. 5, which started the unbeaten streak. He scored with 19 seconds left in regulation of that game to send it to overtime.
