Jago Tabbed Atlantic Hockey Defenseman of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's Tanner Jago (Brandon, Manitoba) has been tabbed the Travel Team USA Atlantic Hockey Defenseman of the Week, the conference revealed Tuesday.

Jago combined for three points, two goals and one assist, in helping Bentley to wins over ECAC teams Brown and Dartmouth last week. That extended the team's winning streak to six games, which is currently the third longest in Division I.

Jago scored the first goal of the game in both contests. Against Brown, he netted a power play goal to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead with 1:23 remaining in the first period. Against Dartmouth, he scored with 55 seconds left in the opening period for a 1-0 lead. He then assisted on a Kyle Schmidt power play goal in the second period.

He also blocked six shots combined in the two games.

On the season the Manitoba native has 13 points (4 goals, 9 assists), which is tied for second most on the team, and is fourth most among Atlantic Hockey defensemen.

Jago and the Falcons will take their six game winning streak and a 7-7-3 overall record into the winter break. Their next game is on Jan. 5 at home to Northeastern.
