LOWELL, Mass. – Sophomore Ryner Gorowsky (Lino Lakes, Minn.) scored with 1:26 left in overtime to give the Bentley hockey team a 3-2 win over No. 18 ranked UMass-Lowell at the Tsongas Center on Tuesday night.

The win is the third in a row for the Falcons, and the sixth different Hockey East team they have beaten all-time.

Sophomore Aidan Pelino (Oakville, Ontario), just named the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week, made 25 saves.

Bentley's other Player of the Week this week, center Drew Callin (Middleton, Wisc.), got the winning goal started with a face-off win in UML's offensive zone. Gorowsky came up with the puck and skated all the way into the offensive zone. His attempted pass to Callin deflected back to him as he continued to skate into the slot, and he snapped off a backhander that beat UML goalie Chris Hernberg for the win.

Bentley trailed 1-0 after an early first period goal by the River Hawks' Jake Kamrass, but tied it up at the 12:00 minute mark on a goal by defenseman Connor Brassard (Fitchburg, Mass.). Brassard kept the puck in the Bentley offensive zone along the boards after UML attempted a clear, and Brassard scored on a shot from just inside the blue line.

The Falcons began the second period by killing off a River Hawks power play, but one minute after it ended, the hosts went up 2-1 after center Nick Master scored in front at the 6:31 mark after a redirected shot from the blue line by defenseman Anthony Baxter.

Bentley though fought back and got the tying goal late in the period from defenseman Charlie Marchand (Calgary, Alberta). Gorowsky was involved in this goal as well, with the primary assist. He skated in on net from the left wing and got off a shot from close range that Hernberg made a pad save on, but Marchand was free on the far post to knock in the rebound to tie the game at 17:36.

There were no goals or penalties for either team in the third period, though Pelino helped keep the game tied for Bentley with seven saves.

Bentley will go for its fourth straight win on Friday night when they return to Atlantic Hockey action when they visit AIC for its only game of the weekend.
