WATERTOWN, Mass. – Despite another goal by Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo) the Bentley hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to Canisius on Friday at the JAR in the opening game of a weekend Atlantic Hockey series.

Gladiuk gave Bentley a 1-0 lead 9:08 into the first period, assisted by Max French (West Kelowna, B.C./West Kelowna) and Kyle Schmidt (Menomonee Falls, Wisc.) off a face-off win in the offensive zone. The goal marked the 7^th straight game Gladiuk has found the back of the net.

The lead didn't last long though as the Griffs knotted things up at one just 33 seconds later on a goal by freshman Felix Chamberland after he took a pass to the far post from Joshua Gabriel.

The score stayed 1-1 into intermission and almost the halfway point of the 2^nd period, before Canisius seized the lead for good at 9:12 on a power play goal by defenseman Jimmy Mazza on a slap shot from the point. Less than two minutes later the visitors made it 3-1 on a goal by Alex Jaeckle.

That was the final goal of the game as Bentley drops to 9-11-4 in Atlantic Hockey games, while Canisius improves to 9-9-5 in conference games with the victory.
