Gladiuk, Argue & Blomquist Claim Atlantic Hockey Awards

WALTHAM, Mass. – Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo), Jayson Argue (Swan River, Manitoba/Nanaimo) and Matt Blomquist (Blaine, Minn./Coulee Region) all claimed weekly awards from Atlantic Hockey after helping Bentley sweep Northeastern over the weekend.

Gladiuk was named Co-Player of the Week, Argue Goalie of the Week and Blomquist Defenseman of the Week.

Gladiuk had four goals in the two games, three coming on the power play. His 2nd career hat trick on Friday propelled the team to a 3-2 win at Matthews Arena, and his power play goal on Saturday at home gave Bentley a 3-0 lead in the 2nd period. It's the 4th time in his career he's been named Player of the Week.

He was also named the 3rd Star of the Week by NCAA.com

Argue was dominant all weekend, especially on Friday when he saved 49 of 51 shots faced in the midst of a heavy Northeastern attack. He stopped 40 more shots on Saturday night and didn't allow a goal until nearly halfway through the 3rd period in Bentley's 4-1 win. In the two games combined, Argue stopped 89 of 92 shots faced for a .967 save percentage and 1.50 GAA. It's the 2nd time in his career he's been named Goalie of the Week.

Blomquist tallied four assists, two in each game, and was +2 for the weekend. In Saturday's win, he setup Will Suter's goal to make it 2-0 in the 1st period, which went down as the game-winning goal. He also had the primary assist on Gladiuk's power goal in the 2nd period to make it 3-0, and assisted on both of Gladiuk's power play goals on Friday. It's Blomquist's 2nd career Defenseman of the Week award.

With a 2-2 record now, Bentley is off this weekend but returns to the ice on Saturday, Oct. 31 when they visit Army West Point.
