WATERTOWN, Mass. – The Bentley-Holy Cross rivalry produced another entertaining game Friday night as the Falcons rallied twice from two goals down to post a 4-3, series opening win over the Crusaders at Ryan Arena.

Bentley trailed 2-0 after the first period and 3-1 halfway past the second, but ripped off three straight goals for its second straight come from behind victory after rallying from 3-0 down at Mercyhurst last Saturday.

Senior Brett Switzer (Calgary, Alberta/Spruce Grove) netted the go-ahead goal at 15:05 of the third period on the power play after he uncorked a shot from the blue line that got through traffic in front of the net and past Holy Cross goalie Matt Ginn.

Holy Cross' T.J. Moore had given the Crusaders a 3-1 lead at 10:14 of the second period, which came just over a minute after Bentley's Andrew McDonald (New Brighton, Minn./Fargo) had gotten the Falcons on the board for the first time with a power play goal. To that point the Falcons had been stymied by Ginn through the first 29-plus minutes.

McDonald struck for his second goal of the night towards the end of the second, at 16:50, to get Bentley to within 3-2. After taking a pass from defenseman Steve Weinstein (Los Angeles, Calif./Vernon), McDonald ripped a shot top shelf past Ginn's glove and off the cross bar. The assist was Weinstein's 100^th point of his career.

Into the third period, Bentley went on the power play just 1:37 in after a hooking call on Holy Cross' Matt Scrath. Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo) nearly tied it with a shot on an open net from the right face-off circle, only to be absolutely robbed by a tremendous glove save by Ginn as he slid across the crease.

But shortly after the power play expired, Bentley got one past Ginn as forward Michael Reardon (Norwood, Mass./South Shore Kings) tied it up after he tipped in a shot by Kyle O'Brien (Tewksbury, Mass./Cushing Prep) from the point. That tied the score 3-3 at 5:16 and was one of two assists on the night for O'Brien.

Bentley's penalty kill was put to work after Reardon's goal as two penalties just 32 seconds apart set the Crusaders up for a 5-on-3 power play for 1:28. But the Falcons stood strong by blocking three of Holy Cross' four shots, which kept the score 3-3 with 9:17 remaining after the two penalties expired.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 12-7-3 in Atlantic Hockey and have won three straight. Holy Cross drops to 9-8-5 in conference play.
