Gladiuk Leads Bentley Past Robert Morris 7-2 for Series Sweep

WATERTOWN, Mass. – Sophomore Andrew Gladiuk (White Rock, B.C./Nanaimo Clippers) led the Bentley offense with five points as the Falcons defeated Robert Morris 7-2 Saturday night in Atlantic Hockey action at the JAR to complete the series sweep.

Gladiuk had two goals and three assists and six different players scored for Bentley, who sweep its second weekend of the season and extended its unbeaten streak to six (5-0-1). The Falcons have gotten their record to .500 at 7-7-1 overall and are now 6-2-1 in Atlantic Hockey.

Senior goalie Branden Komm (Williamsville, N.Y./Northfield Mount Hermon) made 32 saves for his 35th career win, which ties the school record held by Barratt Davison '84.

Bentley jumped out to a 2-0 lead after 11:36 of the first period on goals by a pair of defensemen, freshman Mike Berry (Edmonton, Alberta/Sherwood Park Crusaders) and junior Steve Weinstein (Los Angeles, Calif./Vernon Vipers). It was the first goal of the season for both, and Weinstein added three more assists on the night to give him 19 on the season.

Senior Brett Gensler (St. Charles, Mo./Youngstown Phantoms) added a power play goal with 30 seconds left in the first period to give Bentley a commanding 3-0 lead after 20 minutes. Gladiuk had an assist on each of the first period goals.

With Bentley ahead 5-1 after an unassisted goal by captain Jared Rickord (Skokie, Ill./Springfield Jr. Blues) at 11:04 of the second period, Gladiuk scored the next two goals himself. His first came at 13:27 of the second, and his second goal of the night came on the power play at 7:19 of the third period to give the Falcons a 7-1 lead.
