For the fourth consecutive year, Bentley University’s Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) has been named to the PING Division II All-East Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Thirty-two recent Bentley University graduates are among the first-ever recipients of the Northeast-10 Conference Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence, an honor awarded to graduating senior student-athletes for their outstanding work in the classroom during their college careers.

Recent Bentley University graduate Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) has been selected as the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Golfer of the Year for the second consecutive year. In addition, his coach, Mickey Herron, was voted the Northeast-10 Men’s Golf Coach of the Year for the third time during his 11-year tenure.

Bentley University’s Ellis Yoder (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead HS), a golfer who earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in just four years, has been named the 2020-21 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the Northeast-10 Conference. The announcement was made Monday evening when the conference held its annual awards ceremony in a virtual format.

Day two of the NCAA Division II Golf Championships, being contested at the PGA National Champion Course, ended with Bentley University senior Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) tied for 42nd place. The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Wednesday with Ethier teeing off at 8:47 am.

Three student-athletes from the Class of 2021 have been recognized as Bentley University’s top senior athletes, Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams announced. The Outstanding Male Senior Athlete was presented to golfer Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) while the recipient of the 2020-21 Outstanding Female Senior Athlete award was women’s lacrosse attacker Julia Glavin (Ipswich/Ipswich HS). The Edward J. Powers Award, which goes to the outstanding senior scholar-athlete, was presented virtually to women’s soccer goalkeeper Kat Hassapis (North Reading/North Reading HS).

For the tenth straight time, the field for the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Men’s Golf Regional will include the Bentley University Falcons. Coach Mickey Herron’s team made nine straight appearances from 2010-19 before last year’s was cancelled by the pandemic.
