Bentley Finishes 9th in SNHU’s Penmen Invitational

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University men's golf team finished ninth in the 17-team Southern New Hampshire University Penmen Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at the Canterbury Woods Country Club.

The ninth-place finish mirrored Bentley's standing following both the first and second rounds. The Falcons posted a final round 306 and finished the tournament with a 54-hole score of 910.

Senior Robert Falconer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS) was Bentley's top golfer in the tournament, tying for 12th place overall with a 76-71-74-221.

Next on the leaderboard for Bentley were juniors Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) and Ellis Yoder (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead HS) Ethier tied for 30th in a 90-man field with an 81-70-76-227 and Yoder tied for 35th (76-74-78-228).

Medalist honors went to David Tweddell (Laval University), who broke par all three rounds and -finished with a ten-under 206. Le Moyne's Jonathan Petrin finished in second with a 208 and also shot sub-par in each round.

Laval finished at one under as a team and captured the team championship by 15 strokes over second-place Le Moyne.

Bentley's next action is the Northeast-10 Conference Championships Oct. 7-8.
