Bentley Finishes 3rd in Kravetz Invitational; Simione Top Performer for Falcons

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After beginning the day in second place, the Bentley University golf team took third place in the six-team University of Rochester Kravetz Invitational that concluded Saturday at the Irondequoit Country Club Saturday.

Bentley, which slid nine strokes from its opening round 311 on the difficult Donald Ross-designed course, finished with a two-day score of 631. McDaniel College earned team honors with back-to-back 310's and Rochester was second in its own tournament with a 629.

Individually, Bentley was led by senior Chris Simione (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS), who tied for seventh with a 77-79-156. Sophomore Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS), in the hunt for individual honors before a rough back-nine, tied for ninth with a73-84-157.

Also for the Falcons, senior Doug Kulikowski (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland HS) tied for 12th with an 80-78-158 and junior Robert Falconer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS) tied for 16th with an 81-80-161.

Medalist honors were shared by Rochester's Declan Hickton and Roberts Wesleyan's Erich Spitz, who both turned in a 150.

Bentley will host its own Newport Classic Wednesday at the Newport National Golf Club.
