Yoder Paces Bentley During New Englands

BREWSTER, Mass. – Sophomore Ellis Yoder (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead HS) was the number one golfer for the Bentley University Falcons during the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Division II Championships which concluded Monday at the Captains Golf Course.

Yoder tied for eighth in the 30-player tournament with his second-round 81 producing a two-day score of 158. He finished the tournament with a birdie-four on the 534-yard 18th hole.

Yoder finished three strokes out of the top five and was 11 back of the medalist. Franklin Pierce's Dylan Pliss was four-under during the second round and finished with a 79-68-147 to win by four strokes.

As a team, Bentley finished last among the six teams with the Falcons struggling to a 331-324-655. A strong second-round enabled Saint Anselm College to capture team honors by six strokes over Assumption College with a 631.

Bentley's number two finisher was junior Mike Plansky (Danvers/Danvers HS). He tied for 15th with an 84-79-163 in the team's final tournament of the fall season.
